I understand, it's cliche to blog about your favorite sports teams... I just can't help it!

My beloved Florida Gators are 08 National Champs. Everyone that has an opinion contrary to the previous statement can save their breath, I don't care what you think and it doesn't matter anyway! This is the system in place... EXAMPLE: Just because I don't like Barack Obama doesn't mean that he is not my President (elect). And because he is... I should respect him as so!

Deal with it Utah, Texas, and USC fans. There is always 2009 (actually, Florida will win it all next year also).

With that being said... did you see Sam Bradford's face when Ahmad Black picked him off in the 4th quarter? "Deer in the headlights" is an understatement. Please watch and enjoy (sorry Chris Talburt and Greg Roy)!

The Essence of Kelly!!!

Once again, it is important to note that the post you see below is fraudulent. You see, my sister (who thinks she is funnier than she actually is) has hacked into my blog and has written another ambiguous note, asserting me as the author. I'm ok with that. Really, I am! It makes for friendly banter. But this time, she has gone to far. She deleted a post!

But why has she done this? This is a good question.

Although she portrays me as having an overwhelming desire to be like her (the essence of Kelly), the reality of the situation is much the contrary. By forging statements as if she were me, one can clearly see her reverting to a sub-conscious state, where in her mind, she has always wished she was as awesome as I am!

I distinctly remember, in 1997, she dressed up as Scott Marsh for Halloween. I found this peculiar but never gave it another thought, until...

... May, 2006. When she wore her graduation gown to my college graduation. Hat and everything. Lodged in her right hand was a bogus diploma (made of construction paper) that had her name scratched out and my name filled in. That was quite disturbing!

I think past (and present) circumstances dramatically show the severity of the situation I face. Unfortunately, I feel the need to change the password to my blog. Not because I don't cherish the friendly banter between siblings. But because she keeps deleting all of my creative, thought provoking responses to her lame postings!

(For all those who don't know me well... this is a joke. Although, she really does freak me out sometimes)

My sister has always been a genius, and I have finally had to admit that she is much smarter and wiser than me......always has been and always will be! Sometimes I wish I had been born a woman so I could have inhereted the same genetics as her. If only I could be more like her! It is my life's goal to capture the essence of Kelly.....I hope to one day achieve this objective. Pray for me as I set out to complete this overly ambitious task. Often when I am facing life's obstacles, I find myself asking...."What would Kelly do?"

This month, from Missoula, Montana we have the... C'mon Inn!

Obviously, the name is quite inviting, but it's the rustic, Montana charm that will catch your attention. I'm not sure what i enjoyed most about this place... the real wood, A-frame ceilings, the fresh water stream that runs directly through the lobby, the Cracker Barrel conveniently located next door, or the friendly dog sitting next to the sign, welcoming each guest as they pass by... regardless, if you ever find yourself in Missoula, MT and need a place to stay, consider the C'mon Inn.

I know... there is nothing spectacular about this video. However, many people have asked me what Violet does all day. Although the question is somewhat ignorant (because she is only 3 weeks old), I think I understand what they/you are really asking... is she aware, does she fuss, is she content, does she smile, what kind of faces does she make.

This short clip pretty much sums it up... this is what she does when she is not eating, sleeping or pooping!

We all know how cute little kids look in those full length, footy pajamas... but adults... seriously!

I must confess, I did not find this incredibly disturbing picture myself (it was presented at Sound Track Youth Camp '08). But I will make a big deal about it.

Two things...

First... it's important to note that this picture was copied from a website that sells these adult "jammers". This means that the advertisement picture you see above was specifically designed to sell these pajamas to you and me. Seriously... who thought it would be a good idea to make footy pajamas for adults. Even worse, who thought it would be a good idea to sell these footy pajamas to adults by putting a grown man in tiger print jammas and have him pose as an angry cat (grrrrr). Whoever they are... they are geniuses. I WANT A PAIR SOOOO BAD!

Second... is that Matt Adrian in the tiger jammas?!?

Respect the Van

I can't remember the last time I have been the owner of a vehicle that is capable of passing a state inspection. You seem to get used to the idea that your vehicle could fall apart (in our case, literally) at any time. Not anymore! Jessica and I are the proud owners of a 2002 Honda Odyssey. It's metallic blue... in perfect condition... with brand new tires... and only 56,000 miles! It's in better condition than we could have imagined, for the exact amount that God had provided.

You may be curious as-to why I am making such a big deal about a used, 6 year old mini-van. Here's the short story... For the last two years, Jess and I have been praying that God would provide a reliable vehicle for deputation (which is a nice word used to describe the process in which prospective missionaries travel throughout the country, begging pastors and churches for financial support). Obviously our vehicles didn't qualify as "reliable", our new car saving wasn't going very far, and a car payment was out of the question. Considering we start deputation in 3 months... we began to freak out a little about the predicament we were in. 3 weeks ago someone (if your reading this, we SOOOOOOOOOOOO appreciate your gift) generously gave us $10,000 for the purchase of the so-called "reliable" vehicle and God provided exactly what we were looking for... for $10,001.

Thanks to all those who have been praying with us. Thanks again to person (persons) who gave!

Meet Earl Isom

Meet Earl Isom. He grew up in southern Georgia, where he was a star football player. He later moved to Florida where he married a young lady named Sally and started a family. He is the hardest worker you will ever meet, yet always has time to talk. He doesn't have a college education, yet I'm convinced he is the wisest man on the planet. He's a man's man, even John Wayne would admit, yet he can't help but cry when he talks about the love that he has for his family. He is not the biggest, baddest man you'll ever meet, yet I have seen him destroy (not just once, but twice) the most formidable rival one could ever face... CANCER! He is my Grandpa!

On behalf of his wife, four children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren (soon to be six) I want to thank all those who have prayed for him over the last six months... even though you did not know him.

I understand that in order to be successful at this whole "blog thing" you must keep it updated with the latest, most interesting news about yourself or those around you. Unfortunately, I decided to start blogging during the most chaotic time I have ever experienced. Not that things are going badly... just a little crazy.

With all the extra requirements I must do to obtain a spot on the Liles' recommended list, I can hardly fine a second to breathe. So bear with me please... as I attempt to keep you updated on the details of my life, while trying not to fall behind on my current responsibilities.

It's Official: I love Dutch People (read post before watching video)

Culturally, I have heard that Dutch people lacked any form of a sense of humor. As a result, I have often wondered how I would adjust to this type of environment... until I stumbled across this video (Ok... I didn't actually "stumble" across it - it was referred to me). To my surprise, this Dutch talk show host reacts precisely the same way I would have in this situation! There is something uncontrollably funny about this guests high pitch voice. Call me mean, insensitive, or childish... thats fine, but above all, I'm glad to see that I might just get along with these people after all!

True Story

The news called for 6-8 inches of snow, and for the first time this year, they were right! Typically I love the snow, except for the whole scrapping-it-off-your-vehicle part.

Frankly, nothing ticks me off more than spending 30 minutes in the freezing cold, brushing and scrapping, slipping and sliding. Then once you finally get the snow and Ice off the windows... the doors are frozen shut! (You've been there)

BUT NOT THIS TIME... for some reason, every car in our parking lot was covered with 8 inches of snow, except for mine. I walked out, prepared to face a miserable, wintry scene. Instead, I found myself gazing at the beautiful site you see above. It may seem like a small thing to you, but to me, this was a much needed break from the monotony of winter!

The Baby (Pic #2)

This is the first picture of our first baby. You can clearly see [lets just say... his] arms, legs, body, and giant head. Hopefully his body will be more proportionate with his head when he is born. During the ultra-sound he was was flippin around, almost as if he was running laps in his little bubble. We could even see him rubbing his huge head with his tiny little arm... It was incredible. The doctor estimates he is about the size of a jelly-bean.

I'm so excited about the new Jack Johnson album. It's been almost 3 years since JJ has come out with a new album and the word on the street is that this one is his best so far. The official release date is February 5th if you are interested.
